With CWFIA membership, you join a much larger community.  Upon joining, you also become an associate member of the United Council on Welfare Fraud (UCOWF).  You join a community that not only shares thoughts and concerns regarding the importance of program integrity in public assistance programs, but one that takes action.  A community that believes that in networking, sharing information, education and hard work, we can make a difference in the battle against Welfare Fraud.

As an additional benefit of membership, you will gain access to our “Members Only” section of this website where you will find information and updates on important legislation, a Special Investigations Unit Directory (by county and/or state department in California), job
announcements, CWFIA  bylaws, access to the CWFIA Member Forum to network and communicate with other members, training opportunities, and access to the CWFIA Intercom newsletter.

Membership also includes a special discounted rate on our annual conference registration fees.

CWFIA Offers the Following Memberships

Active Membership All persons actively employed, whose primary job function is prevention, investigation, prosecution or administration of Public Assistance Fraud Programs and are employees of Federal, State, County or local government.

Associate Membership Persons who actively support the ideals of CWFIA, and do not meet the criteria of Active or Life membership may be eligible to become associate members of CWFIA. Associate members shall not have a vote or be eligible to be officers of the Corporation, but shall have all other rights of membership.

Life Membership Upon application, current members of the Association who have been active members in CWFIA for five or more consecutive years, upon separation from employment, shall be granted life membership. Life Members shall have all rights of membership, including serving as an officer or an ex-officio director, except they are not eligible to vote in elections or to be elected as a zone director of the Corporation. Life Members are not required to pay dues.

UCOWF AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP & WEBSITE ACCESS

As an active member of CWFIA, you are also eligible for an affiliate membership with the United Council on Welfare Fraud (UCOWF) which is an organization of investigators, administrators, prosecutors, eligibility workers, and claims specialists from local, state and federal agencies from the United States and Canada. This membership is of no cost to you, CWFIA has already paid your membership fee to UCOWF.

 
In order for you to activate your affiliate membership with UCOWF, just follow the few easy steps outlined below.
 
  ~ Go to http://www.ucowf.net/
  ~ Click on REGISTER located in the left side margin of the home page
  ~ There is a listing of different “plans” you will see once you click on the register link
  ~ CWFIA members are AFFILIATE members
  ~ Complete the registration information on the lower part of that page
  ~ The username you select must be the first letter of your first name and your full last name (ex: jsmith)
  ~ Once you complete that registration information, click REGISTER
 
You will receive three emails at the email address you used to register. The first thanking you for registering and asking that you click on the provided link which verifies your email address. You must click on that link to complete that verification process. The second email informs you that your membership has been verified. The third email welcomes you to UCOWF and will verify for you the username you provided during the registration process.
